New podcast studio in Luma, Hammarby Sjöstad

In the past year, the podcast format has become very popular and Fabege is now opening a recording studio in Hammarby Sjöstad. During the autumn, all serious podcasters, both amateurs and professional, will be able to borrow the recording studio, which will be located in Luma’s unique office environment. The objective is for more people to discover Hammarby Sjöstad as a workplace and contribute to the spread of good ideas.

Today, anyone is able to create their own radio channel and spread their message, free of charge, on the Internet. However, many lack the surroundings and the technology required to ensure high quality recording. Fabege is now offering a solution to the problem by building a podcast studio. The studio’s location will be embedded among the offices in the Luma factory in Hammarby Sjöstad, where anyone with a programme concept will be able to record their ideas, stories and discussions at studio quality. The studio has been designed by Note Design Studio and will be available to all serious podcasters.

“I feel that it is excellent that Fabege is embracing podcasts and making it possible for more people to get their voices heard, with excellent technology and in creative surroundings. The phenomenon is growing daily, and although it is already a popular form and mixture of entertainment, information and tools for communicating messages, I’m convinced that we have only seen the tip of the iceberg so far,” summarises Kristoffer Triumf, founder of podcast Värvet.

Luma is located less than ten minutes from the city and has excellent transport links. In addition to the bus service from Slussen, the light railway stops in Luma’s garden and the Sjöstad ferry docks on Luma’s seafront. Luma is a building with an exciting history. The property was built as a lamp factory in the 1930s and was designed by the architects Artur von Schmalensee and Eskil Sundahl. The environment is valuable in terms of cultural heritage and Luma is considered one of the principal functionalist buildings in Stockholm.

Between 13 September and 13 December 2013, it will be possible to book a date to broadcast from Luma’s podcast studio. Bookings are made at: www.lumapark.se/podcast.

Fabege already offers companies the opportunity to test work in a creative environment in the same building as the podcast studio. Anyone who wants to discover how a unique office environment in a creative city district can affect inspiration and job satisfaction is now able to book a trial period between 19 August and 31 October 2013. Bookings are made at: www.lumapark.se.
