Migrationsverket signs new agreement with Fabege

Migrationsverket (the Swedish Migration Agency) is bringing large sections of the Stockholm region’s operations together under one roof at Grand Central Sundbyberg. The lease covers approximately 17,000 sqm of the building’s total office space of 36,000 sqm, and will continue for a period of at least 6 years.  The annual rental value amounts to roughly SEK 45m. Occupancy is scheduled to take place after summer 2018.

Following an extensive procurement process, Migrationsverket has now taken the decision to gather its employees and its new service centre under one roof at Sundbyberg Centrum. The decision means that Migrationsverket will vacate its premises at Arenastaden and Hallonbergen and move in to newly refurbished offices in the Grand Central Sundbyberg property. The net letting effect for Fabege will amount to approximately SEK 20m. The primary reasons behind the choice of location were the excellent public transport connections and flexible nature of the new premises.

Migrationsverket’s new offices and service centre will have their own entrance and the address will be on Sturegatan. Grand Central Sundbyberg has an additional 19,000 sqm or so of office and retail space to let, and future tenants on the upper floors will have their entrance on Järnvägsgatan and the planned new plaza in Sundbyberg.

-“We’re delighted that Migrationsverket has decided to remain with Fabege. Our long-standing and highly successful relationship meant that it was extremely important to us to identify a great office and location for their operations,” said Andreas Malmsäter,Head of Leasing at Fabege.

The property listing for Grand Central Sundbyberg is Orgeln 7.
